<p>The oldest and longest part of the Boulevard Ring connects two squares — Nikitsky Gate and Pushkin Square. Tverskoy Boulevard was laid in 1796, and it soon became the center of social life for the nobles of Moscow. Pushkin also visited the boulevard: it was on the Tverskoy Boulevard that the poet’s monument originally stood, until it was moved to nearby Pushkin Square in 1950. During the New Year holidays, the boulevard is lit up with hundreds of bright lights: light tunnels, New Year trees, and art objects — a real fairytale reigns here.</p>

Samyy staryy i protyazhennyy bulvar Moskvy. On soedinyaet dve ploshchadi -- Nikitskih Vorot i Pushkinskuyu. Tverskoy bulvar zalozhili letom 1796 goda po proektu arhitektora Semena Karina. Pervonachalno na alleyah vysadili berezy, no oni ne prizhilis, i vmesto nih posadili lipy.

Vskore bulvar stal centrom svetskoy zhizni moskovskih dvoryan. Proezdy byli zastroeny osobnyakami v stile klassicizm. Byval zdes i Aleksandr Sergeevich Pushkin. Imenno na Tverskom bulvare pervonachalno stoyal pamyatnik poetu, poka v 1950 godu ego ne perenesli na sosednyuyu Pushkinskuyu ploshchad.

V 1946 godu po proektu arhitektora Vitaliya Ivanovicha Dolganova bulvar byl pereplanirovan i blagoustroen: razmestili cvetniki i posadili novye derevya, ustanovili chugunnuyu ogradu. S 1995 goda zdes raspolozhen pamyatnik Sergeyu Eseninu.
