Moscow Conservatory

The leading music university in Russia, known far beyond the borders of our country. Graduates of the Moscow Conservatory include Sergei Taneyev, Dmitry Shostakovich, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Vladimir Spivakov, Galina Vishnevskaya, Mstislav Rostropovich, Elena Obraztsova and many other famous names. The educational institution was founded in 1866 under the leadership of Nikolai Rubinstein. At the end of the 19th century, the conservatory received its own building, the reconstructed palace of Prince Vorontsov. Inside the luxurious mansion, in addition to the classrooms, there are Large and Small concert halls, the acoustics and decoration of which are recognized as one of the best in the world. The conservatory's rich scientific and musical library is also considered a source of pride.
