Winged Weekend: A Route Through the Capital's Birdlife
One of the most famous sights of the capital is located on the high bank of the Moskva River. In the past, there was the village of Vorobyovo, the memory of which is preserved in the name of the place. In the XVII century, a palace was built on a hill, which became for a couple of centuries the country residence of the tsars. To this day, it has not been preserved due to a fire in 1812. Gradually Vorobyovy Gory became a popular holiday destination. Today it is a well-maintained territory with a wide walking area, flower beds and an observation deck, which offers a beautiful view of Moscow.
