Vasilchikov Estate
A fine example of late 18th- to early 19th-century Classical architecture, this estate complex consists of a main mansion flanked by two wings, all connected by graceful galleries. The building acquired its current appearance during renovations in the 1860s-70s, when a cast-iron balcony was installed, the mezzanine window was redesigned, and the main façade was adorned with intricate stucco decorations. In the mid-19th century, the estate belonged to the Vasilchikov noble family. Over time, it was converted into rental apartments, then served as a women’s gymnasium in the early 20th century. Today, it is home to the Russian Military Historical Society’s Museum of Military Uniforms, preserving a unique collection of historic attire.
