This elegant two-storey restaurant on Taras Shevchenko Embankment is a project of the Andrey Dellos restaurant group. Its design offers a contemporary interpretation of the 1920s aesthetic — the era of the so-called “industrial palaces” popular in London and New York. Matryoshka’s interior brings together modern trends, vintage elements, and industrial accents: an antique pharmacy-bar sourced from private collectors in Paris; custom-made cast-iron staircases and railings; distinctive lighting and aged tiles; an antique fireplace and boiserie; large panoramic windows overlooking the Moskva River; and an open kitchen.

The restaurant’s kitchen is led by Vladislav Piskunov — chef, cookbook author, TV host, and a true expert on Russian culinary history, traditions, and daily culture. The menu focuses on exceptional ingredients from across Russia, used to create refined, familiar, and deeply flavorful dishes.
