The former mansion of the Zvorykin merchant family was converted into a museum in 1919. Its collection documents the history of Murom and the surrounding area to this day. At its core, are the exhibits safeguarded by members of the Murom Science Society and Natural History Club, as well as the extensive private collection of Counts Uvarov. Visitors come here to appreciate the icons created by local artists, applied art objects, traditional clothing from different Russian governorates and paintings by Valentin Serov, Konstantin Korovin and Vasily Surikov.
