Central Children’s Store

The Central Children’s Store has been the main toy store in Moscow for over sixty years. It was built on the site of Lubyansky Passage in 1957, designed by architect Aleksey Dushkin for the Festival of Youth and Students. After large-scale reconstruction in 2008—2015, the Central Children’s Store reopened to customers. The main atrium is the meeting place for visitors to the Central Children’s Store. Time in the Central Children’s Store is measured by the world’s largest mechanical clock. The domes of the atrium are decorated with bright stained-glass windows based on works by Ivan Bilibin and Aristarkh Lentulov.
