The round tower is located in the upper part of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin - in its northwestern corner. In the surviving documents of the XVII century it is called Naugolnaya, because it was located at the corner of the fortress wall. It is a tower with four tiers, the upper one has dentils and a hipped roof. At first it was used as a defensive structure, but later it was used as a military and police storehouse.
