The mansion is located in the historical part of Vyborg, on the Old Town Hall Square. The house was originally a two-story house built by merchant Anton Borchardt in the 1650s. Towards the end of his life he became impoverished and was forced to sell the estate. The most famous owner of the mansion became a large businessman Johan Vekrut. In the middle of the XVIII century, he bought the house and reconstructed the building - changed the shape of the windows, added a balcony and a staircase to the facade. The house was often visited by distinguished guests, among them Prussian Prince Henry and Empress Catherine II. After Vekrut's death, the heirs sold the estate.
