In 1718, a new defensive structure was erected on the site of the destroyed Bikatunsky prison, founded by decree of Peter the Great. In the middle of the XVIII century, it was equipped with twelve cast-iron cannons, cast in 1703 in the Urals. By the beginning of the twentieth century, the fortress buildings were lost, and only two guns have survived to this day. Today they stand on a stone pedestal in a small park, recalling the military past of Biysk.
