Interactive programme and animation performances

Ded Moroz and Snegurochka will be on hand to greet guests at all the Moscow venues. Visitors will be warmly welcomed in verse and prose. Every guest will have the chance to play games like Kulbutto, ‘four-in-a-row’ and ‘fun hockey’ as well as to take part in a New Year’s quiz and face the ‘magic labyrinth’ challenge.

Winter Journey

This year will see the biggest New Year’s quiz in the festival’s history. At every venue, guests will receive a traveller’s passport before diving into the city’s parks and Moscow seasons venues. They will then be presented with new questions at every site, earning special stamps for correct answers. Participants can then exchange their traveller´s passports for gifts.  Winning the main though prize doesn’t just mean collecting a certain number of stamps but engaging with the festival´s special projects.

Time for good deeds

New Year is a time for miracles, but instead of waiting for magical moments, become the magician yourself! Look for 'Good Christmas trees’, scan the QR codes with cherished dreams from some of those mentored by Moscow foundations and NGOs and make dreams come true for people who really need your support. The chalets are open every day and the festival will also host ‘Kindness houses’ where festival guests can leave gifts for children in the four new Russian regions as well as for the kids of people currently taking part in the Special Military Operation. All donations must be new, in original boxes and with tags. Greet your loved ones with a retro postcard, write your wishes and New Year's greetings, and send them through Russian Post mailboxes to friends and family in every corner of the country.

Master classes and stage programme

Theatrical plays, puppet shows for children, and cover band performances will take place at the festival's venues. Children will enjoy traditional master classes and younger guests can join sketching sessions and embark on a behind-the-scenes tour of soviet cinema seeing different costumes and props from New-Year fairy tales. They’ll learn about decorating New-Year postcards and how to gift wrap like a pro! There’s also a workshop where they can craft unique Christmas baubles inspired by their favourite soviet cartoons, all that, and so and much more festive fun.

Sports programme

There will be traditional daily contests to find the strongest competitor in each district, each day, the results in eight disciplines will be recorded. Festival guests are sure to enjoy the open-air ice rinks and curling at Shkolnaya street, where two teams of four to five will compete for glory.  Bring your own equipment, or everything you need can be hired at the rinks, but everyone will get a shoe slider and curling brush after a mandatory briefing.
