My Best Little Gift

Meet Father Frost or actually be him yourself – this New Year, the choice is yours. The leitmotif of the "Journey to Christmas" festival will be the gift: for children and adults, for loved ones and people who need support. This winter, we remember the New Year's surprises of childhood and give ourselves the best gift of all – experiences.

The festival will once again last almost a month. Each day, the venues will host fairs, skating rinks, and carousels. In addition to the vibrant stage programme, the venues themselves will come alive with fairy-tale characters out of old New Year's cards. Interactive photo zones and performances, quests and investigations, festive food, curling, ice shows, and much, much more. Moscow is ready to surprise again!

Interactive performances, theatrical street animation, and magical photo zones, fairy-tale characters and vintage tree decorations will come to life, wide winter festivities with sledding and games by little "cotton-wool" characters will unfold, ladies and gentlemen, visitors to old-fashioned fairs, will stroll. At the district festival venues, guests will meet characters from Soviet-era postcards. There will also be traditional games: "cultbutto," "four in a row," and "merry hockey." In late December and during the New Year holidays, 15 venues will host traditional children's festivities.

December 12 - January 11, 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM

City of Christmas Tree Ornaments

A magical passage, like a portal to the past, will lead you from Revolution Square to Manezhnaya Square. The scent of pine and sweets, the twinkling of garlands, and the sound of festive music prepare you for a meeting with a miracle. You will step **inside** an old Christmas card, where in lamplight, you will see silhouettes of fairy-tale characters and elegantly dressed fair guests.

And on Manezhnaya Square itself, the main attraction of the "City of Christmas Tree Decorations" unfolds. Here, a winter fairy tale comes alive: actors portraying vintage ornaments, ladies and gentlemen from the last century create the atmosphere of an old-world fair. Children will participate in an interactive quest, "In Search of the Runaway Ornaments," watch magical stage performances, or create a unique souvenir with their own hands in the cozy "Magical Ornaments Workshop." Letters with warm wishes can be sent from the "New Year's Post Office," and as a keepsake, take a retro photo in a special salon. Every corner of the square is part of a single magical story, where guests are not just observers but full-fledged creators of New Year's magic.

Costumed Characters

This winter, you will journey inside a sparkling New Year's card. Its heroes are not static pictures but inhabitants of a winter fairy tale, full of life and joy. Characters familiar to everyone since childhood, embodied by talented actors, will fill the space with play, laughter, and kindness. You can joke with mischievous little hares, help the Snowman find his magic top hat, or ask Father Frost for the most important secret to making wishes come true.

This is a place where the warmest memories come alive and new ones are created. We invite you to become co-authors of this living, frosty-air-breathing fairy tale, write your own page in its history, and take home in your heart a unique sense of magic.

Quests for Children and Adults

City residents always love the quests that always feature at every "Moscow Seasons" venue. This time, participants will embark on a journey to find their dream gift. Everyone taking part will receive a Traveller's Passport, then embark on a fairytale walk along decorated central streets and magical locations in the city districts. A local quest for children will take place on Manezhnaya Square. Young detectives will delve into a real investigation.

Journey for the Dream Gift

Every day from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, we invite guests to the warm and heartfelt "Journey for the Dream Gift."

This quest – a revived memory of those most thrilling feelings leading up to New Year: the anticipation of surprises under a shining tree – has embraced 37 festival venues at once. Participants will set off along a living festive route, where Moscow streets will unfold like the pages of a huge interactive book. They won't just stroll along that path, they’ll encounter cozy Christmas stories and traditions from different corners of Russia, woven into the fabric of the festival.

Traditionally, every traveller receives a special passport in which stamps for visiting venues and solving riddles will appear. And when every page is filled, the passports can be exchanged for real warm prizes at the warm "Gift Shops." They also work throughout the festival from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Use the filters to find all the quest locations and Gift Shop addresses on the festival map.
