House in Kotelnicheskaya Embankment

One of the seven Stalinist high-rises in Moscow, built near the confluence of the Moskva River and the Yauza River, designed by Dmitry Chechulin and Andrey Rostkovsky. It began to be built before the war, in 1938, and was completed only in 1952. The house was conceived as an autonomous system: it had everything ― from the cinema to the post office. Actors, military personnel, musicians, scientists, and officials lived in it: Lyudmila Zykina, Andrey Voznesensky, Vasily Aksenov, and Nonna Mordyukova. And in the apartment of Galina Ulanova there is now a memorial museum.
