House-Museum of M. Yu. Lermontov

House-Museum of M.Yu. Lermontova is a unique wooden building in the center of Moscow, where the great Russian poet spent three years of his childhood. The museum was opened in 1981 on the initiative of literary critic Irakli Andronikov, and recreates the life of the era in which Lermontov’s early years occurred. The exhibition features paintings and watercolors by the poet himself. In particular, his only self-portrait.
