Bolotnaya Square

The square takes its name from the once marshy lowland near the right bank of the Moskva River. In the 17th and 18th centuries, it hosted public festivities, fist fights, and public punishments. Today, the square features a landscaped garden with a fountain, flower beds, monuments, and the Tretyakov Bridge. The entire area between the Moskva River and the Vodootvodny Canal is free of buildings, offering a scenic view of Zamoskvorechye from the Kremlin Hill.

This summer, Bolotnaya Square will become a seasonal attraction with Moscow Tea Time areas open throughout the summer from 10:00 to 22:00. The multifunctional art object will serve as a meeting place for Moscow residents and visitors. Here, you can learn about Moscow Tea Time events, meet friends, and take a break from the city rhythm on loungers and poufs.
