Ploshchad Revolyutsii Metro Station
On March 13, 1938, a new metro station was opened. It got its name from the nearby Revolution Square. The author of the architectural project was Alexey Dushkin. The design of the station is designed in such a way that the pylons "dissolve" into the general appearance of the underground hall, and the arches of the aisles visually expand the space. Sculptures of Soviet people are installed in the niches, symbolizing different facets of society and the history of the country. They are made of bronze by a team of craftsmen led by Matvey Manizer. The western ground vestibule of the station is shared with Teatralnaya, while the eastern one opens onto Bogoyavlensky Lane and is decorated with mosaics in honor of the 30th anniversary of the October Revolution.
