Komsomolskaya Metro Station

One of the most beautiful stations of the Moscow metro was opened in 1952. It was built in the post-war period and became a kind of reflection of the power of the Stalin era and the greatness of Victory. The design of the station was carried out under the motto "Glory to the victorious Russian weapons", and the mosaic plots were based on significant events in Russian history. Initially, Joseph Stalin played an important role in the images, but in 1961, as part of the fight against the cult of personality, the mosaics were partially or completely changed. But the architecture of the station has been preserved to this day.: It is a three-vaulted columned space with a large central hall and two pairs of escalators. The classical-style ground pavilion is decorated with bas-reliefs dedicated to the "creative work of the Soviet people."
